The new iPhone is finally here, and now I am really ready to buy one in July. I resisted buying the original iPhone which I still love. Instead, I compromised and purchased an iPod Touch which is absolutely wonderful. I actually used it in a Wi-Fi environment during my successful defense of my dissertation in February.
The crowd literally went wild when I was able to show my blogs, websites, social bookmarking sites, and video sites.
I am certain that the iPhone is the future of the Internet, but I think that there are a few features that it needs: iChat for video conversations, a 8-10 mega pixel camera, a 100 gigabyte memory, a HD video camera, and a radio quality audio recording device.
This could be the ultimate convergence device. That is my take what is yours?
I could not agree with you more with regards to your recent posting. I love the Iphone myself, but the earlier version was just to pricey for both corporate and personal purchasing.
I was there when you used your Itouch device to awe your dissertation committee. I too waited patiently for the new Iphone to be introduced, but the low price caught me by surprise.
As for the actual hardware/software of the new Iphone my take on it, is that it allows external software makers to have access to Apple "top secret" operating platform. This should allow for better software to be downloaded from the Apple Store website onto your Iphone.
Additionally, I thought I read that this Iphone will permit you to use other cellular service providers? We all know that AT&T solidified that market during the introduction of the previous versions of the Iphone.
Overall, I am new to the Mac world. Last year (October 2007) my corporate office at Morgan, purchase two Mac computer systems. Having began with no user experience with a Mac, seven months later, I can't believe why I did not make the switch from a PC to a Mac sooner...you can teach a old dog new tricks (Hee,hee, hee).
